6 Healthy Tips for Working Mothers to Enhance Their Quality of Life

Do you think working mothers have it tough?

Whether you’re a stay-at-home mum, a work-from-home mum, or a corporate 9-5 mum; being a mother is already a full-time job as it is.

And achieving work-life balance can prove to be quite a challenge.

Kids and family are always important to any mother. They mean everything to you, as they do to me. However, with being sucked into work and family, sometimes we working mothers forget to prioritize ourselves.

As a working mother, I try to focus on maintaining my health properly in order to accomplish my goals in life. Without looking after myself properly, I can’t expect to look after my own family.

“Having kids—the responsibility of rearing good, kind, ethical, responsible human beings—is the biggest job anyone can embark on.” — Maria Shriver

Therefore, maintaining one’s good health is necessary for every working mother, in order for us to take care of the family without any hassles. However, it’s not an easy one and most of us struggle to maintain our fitness due to lack of time and other factors.

If you are a working mother then, follow the tips below to stay healthy and maintain a good quality of life.

Have enough breakfast
It’s often to face high-stress levels in the morning. Therefore, focus more on getting a full, healthy breakfast every morning. Making sure that you eat a good breakfast is just as important as making sure that your children eat a good breakfast. If this means waking up one hour before your children in order to have enough time to eat before rush hour, so be it.

Don’t skip your morning breakfast because it will only lead to health complications, and this wouldn’t benefit you or your family at all. At the same time, make sure that you have the right ingredients for the breakfast as that can help gain major advantages. Having enough breakfast will also allow you to maintain your energy levels throughout the day, and as a result, stay fit and healthy.

Ensure a balanced diet
A balanced diet is necessary for everyone, big and small, because it covers all of the essential nutrients needed for your body. Furthermore, a balanced diet is rich in non-nutrients, such as phytochemicals and antioxidants, that are very important for you. Vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins, high calories, and low nutrients are also very important for the human body.

By taking foods that cover all of these features of a balanced diet in moderation, you’ll have the right amount of energy and nutrients to be fit and healthy. It is also advisable for you to drink enough water before and after taking a balanced diet.

Get enough sleep
Sleep is yet another aspect you should consider when trying to stay healthy; it allows you to get enough rest, wake up refreshed, and rested for a new day.

This is especially important when you work long hours in an office job, where there are many meetings and it is very demanding. You should be getting at least 6 to 8 hours of good sleep in a day, and that will help you achieve the best results.

Exercises
Exercises play an important role in improving your fitness. You should perform them at the same time every day. Try to carry out a workout/exercise routine in the morning and evening, as that can help with keeping your health and body in good condition.

Focus on relaxation techniques
Relaxation techniques are known for calming down the mind and enabling you to focus more on your work without any hassles. As a working mother, I always find the time to relax and de-stress my mind from various problems. I also perform Breath focus and meditation to reduce any stress I may have from other issues and factors in my life.

During this time of working (teaching) from home, my runs have been my main escape from my family. I miss my me time! I feel guilty saying that, but I also know that being a working mom usually makes me a better mom. I’m looking forward to routine again.

I love this. Being a mom is a full-time job in itself, and I often feel overwhelmed when I have to divide myself between deadlines at work and time with my kids. Self care is important to make sure we are present in the moment 💜

I needed to see these tips for working moms. I’m majority of the time a stay-at-home mom but I occasionally work part time. It’s tough juggling multiple hats.

Great tips! I am also a firm believer in the power of breakfast and get up early to make sure I get it in. My day just can’t start until I eat something. I have definitely found that regular meals/snacks keep me on track and not as likely to lash out at someone because I’m hangry! lol Thanks so much for posting these great reminders!
